Blueberry Loaf Bread

Blueberry Loaf Bread

1/2 cup butter soft
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 cups of all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup fresh blueberries (sometimes I use thawed frozen berries, just drain off the juice)

For top of bread mix some cinnamon and sugar

Beat butter, sugar, eggs, milk, vanilla. Add flour, baking powder. Fold in Blueberries. Pour into a greased and floured 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top. Bake at 350 degrees for an hour or until knife inserted in middle comes out clean. Please let bread cool off completely in pan before removing.

This can be wrapped and frozen then thawed to use later for a quick dessert~

Granny's Banana Bread

Granny's Banana Bread

Ingredients:
Mix separately, 1 1/2 cups oatmeal
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 stick of soft butter. Set aside/

Batter Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup soft butter (one stick)
4 large ripe bananas, smashed
1 1/2 Tablespoons of milk plus 1 tsp. of lemon juice added to it
Mix and add;
2 beaten eggs, then;
2 cups of all purpose flour, 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. baking soda. You may add  1/2 cup finely chopped pecans if you want to.
Spray your bread pan with cooking spray and flour gently. Add 1/3 of the oatmeal mixture to the bottom of pan.  Put in ONLY half the batter and another 1/3 of oatmeal mixture, top with rest of batter and then lastly with the oatmeal mix. Bake @ 350 degrees for 1 hour and then keep checking it for doneness by inserting a knife in center if it comes out clean it is done. This usually makes one loaf with some batter left over which I put into a small pie pan and bake first but be careful this one is ready in only 15 minutes. After removing from oven let the bread rest in the pan until completely cool about an hour or more then invert onto plate.

Bottom of loaf all gooey with goodness~

Top of loaf.

In the Same Pan Cake

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour,1 1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup cocoa,
2 tsp. baking soda,1/2 tsp. salt, 2/3 cup oil,2 Tbsp. cider vinegar, 1 Tbsp. vanilla, 2 cups cold coffee, 1/3 cup sugar and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon.

You DO NOT mix it in a separate bowl you mix it in the pan that you are baking it in! Add all dry ingredients EXCEPT 1/3 cup sugar and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon into a 12 x 8 inch ungreased pan.
Mix in liquids. Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle half over cake and bake at 350 oven for 35 to 40 minutes. While cake is stil hot sprinkle rest of cinnamon sugar mix.Cover with aluminum foil. Cool at least 20 minutes. Enjoy! I took this picture too soon but the sugar topping melts into the top and becomes super moist~

Triple Chocolate Cookies

Triple Chocolate Cookies
1 cup of soft butter, 1 cup oil, 1 cup light brown sugar, 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 egg, 1 tsp.milk, 1 tsp. pure vanilla. Cream altogether add: 1 tsp. baking soda and 1 tsp. salt and 4 1/2 cups of all purpose flour. Batter will be thick. Add 1/2 bag each ( 12 oz.) of Milk chocolate chips, mini morsels chocolate chips and chocolate chunks. Bake in 350 degree preheated oven on ungreased cookie sheet. I bake mine for 5 minutes or until outside edges are brown and tops are not gooey looking. Do not overbake. I let mine sit on pan until cooled. Good luck and have some chocolatey fun!

I Love This Ribbon!!!

I love this peacock ribbon that sits
on top of my Exotic Holiday Wreath,
don't You!!!

Do it Yourself Autumn Candle Ring

This is so easy to make!!!
Buy a candle ring, some floral picks, wire and floral tape. Wrap the wires around the candle ring or if they are not long enough use some floral wire and tape. Use wire cutters to cut the length you need. Twist a small piece of wire onto the pick then using the tape wrap it around the wire.
Keep adding enough picks around the ring until it is full the way you like it.
**Caution** if using a real candle do not let it catch on fire.
I light mine for only a bit then blow it out so it looks used.
The way to be safe is to buy a battery operated candle then build your ring around that!! Happy Crafting!!!

Small Girl's Wooden Purses

A Gorgeous Autumn Table Centerpiece

What a colorful and lively Autumn arrangement I created and just darling for your Thanksgiving centerpiece!!

Close up view of scarecrow's handpainted face!!! He is an expensive collectors piece and valued at over $50.00 bought separately at a high end department store.Of course, I did not pay that price for the scarecrow because I am a very savvy shopper!!! And find most of my lovelies at a nice discounted rate so I may pass these incredible savings your way too!!
He is so cute and his face is made from cloth.

Notice the sheen on this Autumnal ribbon and the large sunflowers. It all sits in a Tuscany style ceramic container.

Side view so you can see the fullness of this and the velvet like cattails and fall foliage with burnt orange and amber leaves makes this an attractive centerpiece that will leave your guests asking, "Where did you get that??"

You Can Make This Fall Wreath!!

Make this simple Autumn wreath yourself and save some money too!!
I used a coupon for my area craft store, they come out every week in the Sunday's edition of our newspaper. I got 40 percent off and that makes me smile.
I bought this real branch pre-made wreath and added a package of fall leaves using my glue gun so how easy is that!!

For Royalty~

This is a cross stitch kit I did my way!!
I added beads, ribbons and on the doll I sewed part of an old pillow case I hand dyed in kool aid and then bleached out. The teddy bear looks dimensional with it's raised beading. The gold metallic thread on the couch gives it an air of perhaps belonging to an aristocrat.
This is a work in progress and when finished it will be a pillow or framed picture. Either way another beauty that I am happy with.

Beautiful Fur Brooch

A beautiful brooch I made using an old granny coat I got for free from a church. The pink portion came off another jacket collar. I don't wear real fur but this one I made for someone else. I love all these new fake furs because they look so real but more importantly it saves the lives of the animals that I love so well~

I have been lighting a lot of candles lately and I love how the flame flickers and the wax wanes and puddles around the container forming it into the mold in which it sat. We are kind of like that candle only I want my flame to be one that no one else can blow out. God is my wick, his word my Flame and as it melts my ideas, thinking and traditions it molds me into the vessel in which I am sitting in. Let GOD put you where you belong and as you are being used up in his kingdom remember to be that beacon that someone else can see shining in the darkness of their despair.

The Joy of Life

I have found that Life isn't about the material things one can own but the love that one can give to a fellow man.

It is sharing what you have, helping one another and especially doing for those you don't know or have never met. I am rich in love and do for others every chance I get because I am doing something for myself when I do. I get great joy that comes from seeing the smile on that face from someone who wondered where their next meal was coming from or more importantly who would love them just the way they are. I smile and love to chat with people I meet. An encouraging word does more than we think because I too have been lifted up by them.

How long has it been since you did anything for someone without expecting a thing back in return?? A smile is free and so are these, "Go ahead and cut in front of me I am not in a hurry", as you stand in line at the grocery store. Hand someone that dollar they seem to be digging around for as you wait in line. I have done it and it has been done for me as well, many times, in fact.

Am I perfect?? Good grief no way, far from it, however, I do love all my Sisters and Brothers. Who are my Sisters and Brothers?? Why all of you are!!! You too, can live your Life Beautiful so take a moment and just do it. Relax, life is in the giving and is what makes it worth the living~

Friends & Food

I love to cook but alas my hips show it, hee hee, but cooking and baking are only two of my passions of life!!!!!! I am always searching to learn new techniques and I literally have hundreds of books. I am the kind of cook, however, that loves to make things up as I go or take a recipe and make it my own. With the most fabulous of holidays soon approaching I am already browsing my scrumptious recipes to create more this coming year. I only wish I had a kitchen as big as my thoughts for then I could have hundreds of luscious gift boxes standing at the ready like toy soldiers to hand out to all I meet. Wouldn't that be a wonderful feeling to hand someone you don't even know a small box of love during the holidays. I can dream can't I!! Fire in the Forest A Poem by Bridge (An Original)

Fire in the Forest, A Poem by Bridge

For eons of Long ago, they lingered there, in the Forest's Stealthy night, standing ready on tips of paws fast and fleeting, waiting to hear the call which rang out true at the midnight hour, bringing friends of fangs, with their voices reverberating echoes of a likewise clan, each strand of fur on edge, briskly awaiting with the pounding of hearts that howled, jumping o'er the fence and fields, for hunt they would to kill, to keep the ancient tribe alive, for a Wolf, it's Do or Die, in these moments when, the hunt is brought together again in Unity of Loyal Strength, each one proves their rank within their Pack, the humble Buck stood staring at the red eyes of Fire in the Forest dark, with one great leap he ran as hard as he could but the ringing of the Howling Wolf brought out the beasts of Fire that had stood patiently staring back into the eyes of the hunted. The moon's reflection shown the ominous shadows of the Fire in the Forest as each one sang in unison, the Victory of the Wolf~An Original one by me, hope you enjoy it~Bridge
I don't know who made this picture but it is one of my favorites and Oh So Romantic!!!
